No Escape

Sound
We got our sound track from youtube we liked it as it was eerie and thought it would be good as background music to build tension. Quiet eerie music is a common convention within horror films and we felt the music fit well with the narrative.
We also added sounds such as screams to fit with the theme of horror, high pitched screams are very common in horror films to reinforce the idea of fear. We tried to add a few screams to keep up with the 'classic' horror conventions however we tried not to over use them to make them more effective and to make the audience jump when they happened making our opening more gripping.
We also tried to follow the sound conventions of coming of age films by adding the famous pop song 'I Cry' by Flo Rida during the flashbacks to the party. We thought this fit with the theme of coming of age as it was in the charts which many teenagers 'typically' listen to.
Additionally we added background party noise to the flashbacks which we found on youtube. The sounds include faint laughter and dialogue and general noise which links to dialogue being a common convention in openings of coming of age films.
